Four-time jockey champion announced as Racing Post Ambassador

Racing Post has expanded its media team after four-time champion jockey Richard Johnson became the company’s newest ambassador.

Johnson will delegate his time to writing regular features for the paper and website every Saturday, whilst also promoting jockey welfare for the company.

Louise Agran, Chief Marketing Officer at Racing Post, commented: “Richard is one of the most successful jockeys around and he is a role model to many in the industry so we are delighted to have him on board. I am thrilled that he has chosen to partner with the Racing Post and we look forward to working together on some exciting projects ahead.”

The jockey will still continue to race after suffering a broken arm over a month ago, with Racing Post representing Johnson during his events. The firm also announced that the Englishman will feature in multiple content and feature interviews, including a new weekly show starting on Friday.

Johnson added: “I’m delighted the Racing Post has come on board and is going to sponsor me, so you will see Racing Post on my leg from the end of this week.

“There will hopefully be plenty of times that I’m in the studio doing shows and I’ll be writing for the paper as well, so hopefully there’s lots to look forward to. This is the main racing paper, so it’s great to be attached and to work with the Racing Post.”

Finally, Johnsun will create articles every day of the 2020 Cheltenham and Aintree Festivals, providing his own insights on current results throughout the events.

The news follows a busy transitional period for the brand as the company rebranded its corporate identity to Spotlight Sports Group, following its recent expansion.
