Racecourse Media Group (RMG) has been awarded a fresh two year worldwide production and distribution contract by Meydan Group.
The agreement will encompass the full horseracing seasons at Meydan Racecourse, which began on November 9 and culminates on March 31 with the US$30m Dubai World Cup, the world’s richest day’s racing.
Frank Gabriel Jr, Executive Director of Racing at Dubai Racing Club, said: “Racecourse Media Group provided first-rate production and presentation of racing from Meydan for the last two seasons, and RMG also took the event to new and increased audiences via their distribution.
“The 2017 Dubai World Cup was the first horse race to be broadcast live on airlines and cruise-lines via the Sport 24 channel and NBC Sports also broadcast the card in the US.”
The domestic season got underway with a seven race card, and leads into the $10,870,000 Dubai World Cup Carnival which begins on January 11, taking in ten fixtures.
Three weeks prior to the the lucrative World Cup, the official preparation day will be held, with $1.8m on offer across seven thoroughbred races on “Super Saturday.”
The Dubai World Cup, which will have total purses $30m, boasts a nine race card, five of which will be group 1 events, with three group 2 contests plus a group 1 race for Arabian horses.

RMG’s production and on course coverage, which will reach audiences worldwide, is to be supported with the broadcast facilities of Timeline Television.
Production and distribution from Dubai’s flagship racecourse has been undertaken by RMG for the previous two seasons, with a number of broadcast rights packages from the Dubai Racing Club hosted 20 fixture season, to be offered this time around.
