PokerStars adds Cristiano Ronaldo as Global Brand Ambassador

ronaldoAmaya Inc gaming brand PokerStars has confirmed that FIFA World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo has joined Team PokerStars as a Global Brand Ambassador.

The online poker operator will utilise Ronaldo in its global marketing campaigns, as PokerStars looks to maximise its marketing coverage.

Ronaldo announced his role with PokerStars via a personal video placed on his Facebook Page, where he is the most followed person on the ubiquitous social site with more than 103 million fans.  In addition to his huge Facebook following, he has amassed over 35.5 million followers on Twitter.

Ronaldo commented on PokerStars “As a brand, it is always looking at ways to improve and stay ahead of the curve, and as an athlete that is something I truly respect. I started playing poker a few years ago and I love the competition, strategy and fun. I’m looking forward to taking my game to the online and live poker tables and meeting my fans head to head. Although football is my world, poker has always been my game. I’m very excited to join the team.”
