Manchester based independent digital agency Degree 53 has been awarded a remote operating licence for the design and build of gambling software in the UK market. Degree 53 is one of only a small number of agencies in the UK that are licensed to build bespoke transactional mobile apps, websites and services to UK gambling operators.
The licence means that Degree 53 is fully compliant with the terms of the Gambling (licensing and advertising) Act that came into force late last year and can continue to provide services to its UK licensed gambling clients including Betfred, Totesport and Kerching.
To be awarded a licence, Degree 53 had to prove that it adhered to all of the UK Gambling Commission’s strict security guidelines and best practices, the clearance process took six months.
Andrew Daniels, MD and founder of Degree 53, said:
“Degree 53 was born out of the gambling industry and it is an important market for us. We are proud to have been awarded this licence as it demonstrates that our products are built to a high standard of quality with a close eye on stopping any potential security implications, both of which are requirement of the UK Gambling Commission.”
With the topic of security firmly in the public eye in recent years, granting of the licence stands Degree 53 in good stead to deliver secure solutions for other industries as they continue to diversify.
Daniels further added: “As we continue to enter new sectors, these skills are transferable to other industries that rely on high quality digital services and data security.”
