Betway has announced an agreement with former England rugby captain Mike Tindall ahead of the 2015 Rugby World Cup. The deal will see the 2003 World Cup winner become a Betway ambassador and help promote the brand through multiple channels.
The partnership represents the betting company’s first foray into rugby and Tindall will feature in the firm’s advertising and promotional materials as well as some media appearances. The former Bath and Gloucester player will also provide unique content for Betway’s blog in the run-up to the World Cup, the autumn internationals and next year’s Six Nations.
Betway’s CEO Richard Akitt said: “Signing a rugby legend like Mike Tindall is another significant coup for Betway, and we’re looking forward to sharing his unique insights with our customers. The Rugby World Cup promises to be a truly wonderful event and we’re thrilled to welcome Mike on board.”
Tindall added: “After the gripping final Saturday of this year’s Six Nations, anticipation levels for the World Cup have heightened considerably. The tournament highlighted that England, Ireland and Wales can all be considered as genuine contenders to lift the Webb Ellis trophy and I’m excited to help Betway analyse and guide their customers through this tremendously exciting tournament and beyond. ”
