Gamesys announces strong performance in trading report

Gamesys Group has announced an “outstanding operational performance” for 2020, despite the significant global setbacks posed throughout the year by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Group’s Board is confident that FY 2020 Revenue and Adjusted EBITDA at or above the ‘upper end of current market expectations’ will be reported, following a strong trading performance recorded in the fourth quarter of the year.

In addition the company highlighted key strategic progress in the integration of its enlarged operations following its 2019 merger of JPJ Group and Gamesys assets which progressed smoothly and as expected.

“Gamesys has delivered a tremendous performance during 2020. Our strong growth is the result of excellent execution against our strategy, a deep understanding of our player base, and our commitment to always putting players at the heart of everything that we do,” said Lee Fenton, Chief Executive Officer, Gamesys Group plc.

“Against the backdrop of a global pandemic, our relentless focus on the sustainability of our revenue streams, coupled with ensuring player and staff wellbeing, has positioned us well to carry our considerable forward-momentum into 2021.”

A strong focus on responsible gambling – including the health and wellbeing of both the Group’s staff and players – has remained a core aspect of the firm’s operational strategy as it continues to grow.

Fenton added: “We maintained strong and sustainable growth during 2020; a period in which we completed the integration of our enlarged Group, entertained record numbers of active players, and significantly enhanced our propositions and technology platforms.

“During the year, we also delivered a maiden dividend and as we enter 2021, we are in a strong position to continue to deliver growth in the business and create value for our shareholders.”

LSE-registered Gamesys Group maintains the current brand portfolio of  Jackpotjoy, Virgin Games, Vera & John, Heart Bingo, Botemania, Monopoly Casino and Rainbow Riches Casino.

Gamesys Group will announce its full-year 2020 trading results in March (TBA).
