Ross Main SBC Sales Director

SBC strengthens sales team with Ross Main appointment

SBC, the leading events and media business in the betting and gaming industry, has moved to strengthen its commercial team with the appointment of Ross Main as sales director.

Main brings with him extensive experience and contacts in the industry, having spent the past two years as a Business Development Specialist at Kambi.

His arrival is part of an expansion of the company’s sales operation with the addition of two new sales director roles. The other sales director position will be filled through the promotion of Conall McCabe.

The pair will each manage a team selling SBC’s physical and virtual events, B2B media network and magazine.

Main has hit the ground running by becoming involved in this month’s groundbreaking SBC Digital Summit, the type of innovative project that made the move attractive to him.

He said: “SBC is a really important part of the betting and gaming industry, providing an unmatched range of media and events to established and aspirational businesses.

“I am delighted to be joining such a hard-working and dynamic team who continue to exceed expectations and deliver world class services to SBC’s partners.”

McCabe is also a familiar face to many in the betting and gaming sector, having joined SBC in 2016 and contributed to the company’s rapid growth over the past four years through his work with numerous key customers.

He said: “It’s always been a privilege to be part of an amazing team at SBC. I’m really excited to be stepping into the role as sales director and playing an integral part in delivering the very best media and events opportunities that the betting and gaming industry has to offer to our clients.”

Jaap Kalma, Chief Commercial Officer of SBC, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Ross to the company and to see Conall receive a well-deserved promotion.

“Both of them share the commitment to delivering great experiences and service to customers that is the ethos of SBC, so I have no doubt they will be hugely successful in their new roles as we emerge from the current industry slowdown into what we all hope will be a very busy second half of 2020.”

Main’s arrival comes after the recruitment of Todd Weedon to the marketing team, as SBC continues to press ahead with its hiring plans as part of the strategy to meet its long-term growth targets, despite the disruption to the industry resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

SBC has a packed events schedule for the rest of the year, beginning with the SBC Digital Summit on 27 April – 1 May and continuing with June’s CasinoBeats Malta, the SBC Summit in Barcelona in September, Betting on Sports Europe in London in October, and December’s Betting on Sports America in New Jersey.
