SBC Awards 2019

Major industry players ‘honoured’ to be shortlisted for coveted SBC Awards

The SBC Awards 2019 ceremony is fast approaching and the shortlisted companies are eagerly awaiting one of the most prestigious events in the sports betting and igaming industry calendar.

The awards were originally founded to recognise the achievements of the companies driving innovation and growth in the gaming sector, and since their inception in 2014 have grown significantly both in scale and their importance to the industry.

There are now categories to honour the best performers among sports betting and online casino operators, technology and services suppliers, payments providers and affiliates, as well as the coveted Leader of the Year prize.

With the reputation of the awards continuing to rise, the ceremony on Tuesday 3 December has moved to the larger Battersea Evolution venue in central London to accommodate all those who wish to attend the end of year celebration of the industry, which will be hosted by Ruud Gullit and Kirsty Gallacher.

The shortlists for the awards feature many of the biggest brands in the industry, along with a selection of innovative newcomers, and all of them are delighted to have been identified as top performers by their peers.

Keith O’Loughlin, Senior Vice President Sportsbook and Platforms at Scientific Games, winner of the Standalone Platform Provider and Best Live Betting Product honours in 2018, explained why it was important for the company to be involved.

He said: “We enter the SBC Awards because they’re excellent indicators of the key players in our industry. To be recognised for your efforts in gaming and sports betting technology is an honour, and it shows that hard work and dedication to creating player-centric experiences can pay off.

“At Scientific Games, we’re honoured to be shortlisted for seven SBC awards this year. We’ve made great strides this year in packaging our content for global customers, and we’re thrilled to be recognised for our efforts.”

Roderick Spiteri Schillig, Head of Employer Branding and External Relations at Betsson Group, said: “We’re honoured to be shortlisted for 11 categories at the upcoming SBC Awards. Being recognised on such a wide scale in this prestigious event shows that all the work we carried out over the past 12 months has caught the eyes of industry professionals.

“These nominations also show that Betsson is really the place to be – not just for all the innovation and developments happening on our product offerings but also in terms of our company culture and workplace environment. Having our CEO, Jesper Svensson, nominated as Leader of the Year confirms that it has really been an incredible year for all of us at Betsson Group.”

Philip Trampe, PR Team Lead at 2018 Best Affiliate Product Innovation winner Better Collective, said: “For Better Collective, the annual SBC Awards represent an important part of our business calendar. We allocate resources across our teams in order to ensure that we create the strongest applications possible. When we are shortlisted for – and hopefully win – awards like this one, it boosts morale across the entire BC group and fills our offices with lots of positive energy.

“We see the SBC Awards, which we have been fortunate enough to win a couple of times over the years, as true testaments to the strong position we have built in the industry, and as a recognition of the talented people we have within our organisation.”

The shortlists for all 41 categories can be viewed on the SBC Awards website.

Tickets for the event are now on sale. In addition to the ceremony and entertainment, all attendees will enjoy a champagne and cocktail reception, three-course dinner and complimentary drinks, while businesses booking VIP tables will also benefit from company branding, five extra bottles of champagne and a dedicated table waiter.
