Australian fantasy sports betting provider TopBetta has signed an advertising deal with Fairfax Media.
TopBetta currently has 2800 active users but aims to increase this to over 10,000 by utilising the channels that Fairfax Media has access to.
The terms of the deal will allow the operator to promote its fantasy sports and racing tournaments across Fairfax’s network of of 3.4 million readers across 140 sites, and a circulation of 2.1 million.
Whilst season long fantasy sports products such as SuperCoach have been commonplace in Australia for some time, far less common are daily and weekly tournament providers such as the likes of FanDuel and DraftKings in the States, the latter of which having launched in the UK this year too.
Todd Buckingham, TopBetta CEO said: “There is no point in doing another SuperCoach. This is a way of competing against that market. People haven’t got the time to do a competition for the whole season these days.”
The Fairfax Media-TopBetta competition will launch in March to coincide with the start of the NRL and AFL seasons.
