1xBet closed a challenging but ultimately successful 2020 by landing the Esports Operator of the Year prize at the SBC Awards, described by the company’s Director of Affiliate Marketing Alex Sommers as the ‘icing on the cake’
As we round off the year, we spoke to 1xBet about the recent behind the win, what it meant to them and what 2021 will bring.
SBC: Congratulations on winning the award for Esports Operator of the Year; can you tell us what this means to 1xBet?
AS: For starters, we’d like to thank SBC Awards for rating the work of 1xBet within the esports field so highly. Being named a winner at the betting industry’s most prestigious awards reaffirms the expertise of our betting company.
We were confident 2020 would be a successful year for us, since 1xBet was also recognised in two more categories – Marketing Campaign of the Year and Sponsorship of the Year – awarded Highly Commended for both. Our company was nominated in six categories and received accolades in half of them – we consider this a respectable assessment of our daily operations.
SBC: Why do you think you won this category?
AS: Winning the Esports Operator of the Year category just serves to confirm our company’s expertise within this field. 1xBet has long been working to promote esports, offering our customers a variety of betting markets.
As part of these efforts, the company has signed partnership deals with esports teams, becoming the title sponsor of NAVI and Cascade Esports. These partnerships have led to the launch of four special projects, a prime example of which is a joint campaign called 1xSaloon between 1xBet and esports team NAVI.
We’ve been nominated in this category the last two years running, so this win is extra proof of how successful we’ve been during this difficult year. To be the leader in this field … that’s always going to be a pleasant feeling.
SBC: How have you managed to navigate your way through a difficult year?
AS: It’s been a really tough year for many businesses – the first wave of the pandemic stopped practically all tournaments across the sports spectrum. However, at the same time, it also sparked interest in esports, and esports betting became the order of the day.
Over the last few years, our company has been a pioneer when it comes to developing esports offers, so we were ready for change and able to provide quite an extensive selection of markets on popular games. Receiving the esports category award at the prestigious SBC Awards has made all this work feel worthwhile.
SBC: What are you looking forward to in 2021?
AS: The year 2021 should be just as successful for 1xBet as 2020 has been. Our company will continue to strengthen our position in the betting industry by expanding our betting offers in all directions. Two key factors in our company’s journey to success are continuous product development and rapid implementation of innovations.
We also intend to keep track of sports trends and quickly adapt to incorporate changing technologies. Our aim is to create a product that’s easy to understand, modern, and user friendly. We hope the coronavirus pandemic will soon be brought under control, and we’ll meet again at the awards in person – not just online.
