6 of the Best – KamaGames’ Sam Forrest

This week’s 6 of the Best comes from Sam Forrest, Director of Global Communications and Content at KamaGames.

Keep reading to find out more about South East Asian delights, a musical conundrum and betting regrets.

Best Holiday

I got to disappear for 4 weeks over last Christmas and visit South East Asia. I managed to get to Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand with the highlight definitely being a tiny island between Malaysia and Thailand called Koh Lipe. A very chilled out spot with great diving and cold beer – what else could you need!?

Wearing shoes upon my return was definitely a challenge as was dealing with going from a 30 degree to a -2 degree climate. Needless to say flights are already being researched for next Christmas although a couple of weeks on the Croatian islands between now and then would be a bonus!

Best album

I honestly don’t have one as there are simply too many choices to pick. That said, a staple on vinyl, CD, MP3 and Spotify in one way or another over the years are Raising Hell by Run-DMC and Licenced to Ill by Beastie Boys.

Best sporting experience

It’s was definitely my first visit to Twickenham years ago to see England vs Scotland. Sadly, I don’t actually remember most of the game due to being in a “very sociable” section surrounded by gentlemen who insisted on sharing hipflasks, but needless to say it was a great day, with a great atmosphere… apparently.

Best film

Tricky as it really depends on mood. I am a real action and sci-fi fan so 13 Hours and BlackHawk Down are going to be up there but I think good old Alien is going to win this one.

Best Book

Lightening by Dean Koontz, a fantastic book. I’ve acquired several copies over the years and normally have a copy with me when I am away on holiday. Oh and I also have a version on my phone just in case. After all, who doesn’t like time travelling Nazis.

Best Bet

Well it should have been at this year’s Grand National with Ucello Conti at £100 to win which would have meant a rather pleasant rest of the weekend for yours truly. Then of course, the 3rd fence from the end changed a night at the Hawksmore to a night at AbraKebabra…. So, a great bet, but not a great result (these were not the calm words I chose to use at the time I hasten to add).
