Best Holiday
Before I became a dad, I was an avid diver, so my best trip was probably when my wife and I took a small tour of Indonesia, where we stopped off in Bali, Nusa Lembongan, the Gili Islands, and Lombok.
To be fair, with beautiful underwater life, good surfing, mountains to climb, rice fields to wander, magnificent views, and incredible beaches – there was not a lot to dislike.
Best Album
Radiohead – OK Computer. It is just a great album from track 1 to track 12. It has no deeper meaning to me than the fact it is fantastic music, which I still quite happily listen to today.
Best Film
Finding Nemo – Okay, it hasn’t always been that, but I’ve developed a newfound appreciation for it. My son likes it, and it has taught him a lot about sea life and the types of creatures you find in the ocean. Plus, let’s be honest, it has its funny moments.
Right now, this is my favourite – but that probably also has something to do with the fact that I don’t get much of a say in what we watch at home…
Best Sporting Experience
As a Sheffield Wednesday fan and an Englishman, I have had very little to cheer about in my 32 years so far with neither club nor country. In fact one of my most vivid early football memories was an away day with my dad in 1999 to see Sheffield Wednesday in Newcastle – we lost 8-0 and I cried all the way home.
However, in Europe, I’ve always had a soft spot for Manchester United. Seeing their comeback against Bayern Munich in the Champions League final is something I won’t forget in a hurry.
Best Book
I have to hold my hands up and say I am not a massive reader – I don’t really find the time for it now if I am honest. However, since moving to Denmark, I discovered the Danish author Jakob Ejersbo, and I really enjoyed his African Trilogy consisting of Exile, Revolution and Liberty. They were good companions on diving holidays when taking a break between dives.

Why, that is Better Collective’s SmartBets app… Okay, other than the blatantly obvious, I am a massive Uber fan. It just makes my life a lot easier when I am out travelling and collecting receipts. But we’re all familiar with this one, so there’s no need for further explanation.
