BOS Sponsor Profile – Manuel Sagall – Golden Race

Manuel SagallManuel Sagall is the Art Director and Head of Marketing for Golden Race, the Platinum sponsor for the upcoming Betting on Sports Conference in London. The two-day conference is the largest of its kind within the sports betting industry, and takes place in September (15-16) at the 5-star Grange Tower Bridge Hotel.

We caught up with him to discuss what attracted Golden Race to the event, which conference debates they are most looking forward to, and how the betting industry as a whole can make itself more appealing to a wider sports audience.

SBC: What do you find most appealing about Betting on Sports?

MS: Betting on Sports is set to be one of the most interesting events in the gaming industry for two very important reasons. Firstly, to be part of an event created by and for professionals of the betting industry, and secondly to learn more about other companies and projects with which to establish closer and different relationships. The SBC conferences are better than others, where finding time for networking can be more difficult.

SBC: What are you looking forward to being debated in the conference area?

MS: Without doubt, new developments in the betting industry is one of the most interesting subjects in this kind of event. As we did with our product Real Fighting, innovating with the usage of real video and virtually generated backgrounds, to create something new and never seen before.

It will be interesting to know what further developments are coming from other companies and predict what will be the future of the industry, especially technologically, and in new areas such as augmented reality or virtual reality, in which many companies in other sectors like video games or cinema are already working.

SBC: How can the betting industry make itself more appealing to wider sports consumers and stakeholders?

MS: Virtual sports and pre-recorded events were and still are the future of the gaming industry, allowing consumers to bet every few minutes and having different sports and games available for the whole day. Also, by extending the catalogue of products, events and sports with the possibility to bet every time and everywhere, especially on smartphones.

SBC: Apart from football, what do you think is the most interesting thing to bet on?

MS: Horse and dog racing have loads of people betting on them. Sports like tennis, motor racing or fighting have also been increasing a lot in the last years, and that is why Golden Race are working on all these sports and many others to offer the widest catalogue in the betting industry to all our partners.

SBC: What does the rest of 2016 have in-store for you?

MS: A lot of work on amazing new games to add our portfolio, and to continue our global expansion strategy in emerging markets. 2016 will be a very busy year, but with many, many opportunities for business.
