Playtech strengthens sports leadership team with three senior appointments

Playtech has moved to strengthen its sports betting senior management team, announcing a trio of leadership appointments, ahead of a set of large-scale ‘Playtech ONE’ projects and following its acquisitions sports software provider BGT.

The FTSE-listed gambling technology provider has confirmed the appointments of Richard Andrew as new Playtech Sports Chief Operating Officer (COO), joining from The Hong Kong Jockey Club, where he served as Head of Betting & Projects (2012-2015).

Andrew’s will be joined by the new appointments of Danny Angus as Playtech Sports’ Chief Technology Officer (CTO) joining from industry competitor Openbet, and former Betfair product lead Eion Redmond as Sportsbook Product Director.  

Playtech governance further announced that Peter Greberg has been promoted to Technical Director and leader of the division’s Malmo operations.

The firm’s leadership restructure strategic advisor Ian Chuter leave the business for Ladbrokes-Coral where he is set to serve as Chief Operating Officer for its digital division.

Playtech CEO Mor Weizer would thank Chuter for his services to the company, during a period which saw its business consolidate various sports subsidiaries into the single unit of ‘Playtech Sports.’ Chuter further played an important role in the selection of the Playtech Sports new leadership team

Further commenting on Playtech Sports future progress and new leadership team Mor Weizer stated
