Jonas Wåhlander takes lead as CEO of Cherry Online

Fredrik Burvall, CEO of European igaming operator Cherry Group AB has announced the appointment of Jonas Wåhlander as Chief Executive of its digital gaming division ‘Cherry Online’.

Cherry Group governance stated that the appointment had been made to support its ongoing aspirations to drive digital growth and profitability.

Wåhlander has 15 years’ experience in senior positions within online entertainment businesses, most recently managing the Universal Sony Pictures operations in the Nordic region where he served as Managing Director.

Further strengthening its digital capabilities, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) Marius Andersen, will remain in the business area and report into Wåhlander.

Andersen will take on a newly created key senior role in the team, taking operational ownership of and leading Cherry Online Gaming’s aspirational growth objectives and exploration in to new markets and focus on partner co-operations, as Chief Growth Officer.
