Coral Interactive reports on the 100 Most Influential UK Football Tweeters

Coral and independent social media research and analytics provider Peer Index (Peerindex.com) have compiled a list of the 100 most influential UK football tweeters.

The research carried out by Peer Index on behalf of Coral Interactive marketing, saw the analytics provider asses the tweets of renowned UK football tweeters measuring the influence, reach and engagement of their football related tweets.

Peer Index assigned each Twitter account with a PI-Score, the company reviewed over 100 million twitter accounts, gauging the interaction and engagement of over 10 billion football related tweets

The research excluded corporate twitter accounts and those belonging to active professional football players. Peer Index researched the accounts of celebrities, journalists, football bloggers and football commentators.

The results saw BT Sports and Sunday Brunch (Channel 4) presenter Tim Lovejoy (@timlovejoy) top the list of UK football Tweeters.  Lovejoy recorded a PI score of 87 with more than 650,000 Twitter followers. Popular football twitter account Uber Football Facts (@uberfotballFacts) came second with a PI score of 86 and +290,000 followers.

Phil Mcnulty (@philmcnulty) Chief Football Editor for BBC sport was the highest ranked journalist, ranking third on the list with a PI score of 86 and 279604 followers
