NETELLER Lotus Formula 1 Training Day!

netellerSetting its alarm for 6.30 am and on a breakfast of coffee and Egg McMuffins (apparently the breakfast of F1 champions), Team SBC set-off from to Lotus F1 headquarters in Oxfordshire for a special iGaming and F1 training day by online payment and transaction providers NETELLER, sponsors of Lotus Formula 1 for the upcoming F1 Season.

Arriving at Charlbury station, SBC and guests we were shifty transported to what can best be described as a James Bond’s villain secret layer. There we were met by the NETELLER team who greeted guests with fresh coffee and breakfast, as they prepped us on the day’s activities and morning igaming sessions.

Transferred to the very comfy Lotus auditorium, SBC sat down for the morning igaming insight sessions. The expert session’s speakers selected by NETELLER were very engaging and focused on the latest technologies, player trends and regulations affecting igaming marketing. The sessions invited lots of opinion, questions and discussions from the guest audience.

As soon as the morning sessions had finished, guests were taken to the Lotus Factory’s primary building for a tasty three course meal! Upon sitting down guests found goodie bags filled with Lotus F1 gifts (Christmas Come Early!).

NETELLER Head of Affiliates Lee Ann Johnstone thanked guests for attending the training day and introduced us to the Lotus F1 events team who would be giving us a guided tour of their factory.

With our bellies full the NETELLER team announced that guests would be subjected to a grueling after lunch F1 workout. Divided into teams guests would participate in F1 driver batak reflex training – a space age version of ‘whack the mole’, an F1 race simulation powered by PlayStation and an F1 pit stop tyre change – under guided supervision from the members of the Lotus F1 team of course!

NETELLER guests took eagerly and energetically to the competitions, with prizes at steak bravado and the competitive nature of the invited guests were on full show. Some Alpha males within the group had to be told to calm down!

With the tasks over, the competition winners were announced – IGB’s Aideen Shorrt took down the F1 Pitstop performing tyre change under 4 seconds (Quickfit eat your heart out!). Game Accounts Mark Suwankumpoo showed incredible dexterity to win the in F1 driver reflex training (editor notes that Mark did take 15 attempts to set the winning record).Betfred Affiliate Steve set the best time on the F1 Race Simulation, as he blazed his way to glory, showing incredible F1 pedigree.  Rumour has it that Lotus F1 may offer him a seat on next year’s team.

With the prize ceremony over and tears from guests dried up, we entered the final segment of the training day – A Tour of the Lotus F1 Factory!  Guests were shown expertly through the gigantic and magical Lotus F1 factory.

The Lotus team expertly demonstrated how an F1 car is built, and the science, technology and rugged testing that the cars and drivers must undertake in order to be in peak condition for race day! The tour was fascinating, as guests were shown different areas and labs of the F1 factory – including air tunnels, racer testing engines and F1 Computer labs.

The Tour ended at the factories trophy cabinet reception, were guests posed with F1 trophies won by the team. Guests gave their best impressions of Fernando Alonso and Kimi Räikkönen…

This special day ended with beers and coffee, and much banter and theory of aeronautics and engine performance from newly informed guests as Neteller safely transferred guests to Charlbury station.

SBC can only give thanks to NETELLER and Lotus F1 for a fantastic day out, which without doubt  has been one of the highlights of our year! We wish team Neteller the best of luck and a Merry Christamas…. and Come On Lotus F1 – SBC will be cheering you on in 2014!
