SBC Summit Barcelona 2021

SBC Summit Barcelona agenda focuses on industry’s biggest issues and what they mean for day-to-day operations

The agenda for SBC Summit Barcelona, the global betting and igaming show, is set to deliver in-depth insights on the major issues influencing the future of the industry and a wealth of ideas about how to tackle the challenges businesses face on a daily basis.

Taking place on 21-24 September 2021, the conference and exhibition will see senior executives and key decision makers from markets around the world gather at Fira de Barcelona Montjuïc to share information, network and discuss business opportunities.

The conference element of the event will open with a special SBC Leaders panel on the Main Stage featuring some of the betting industry’s leading executives. It will examine overarching issues faced by all operators, including the impact of competition from low-cost forms of entertainment such as streaming services, the need to change product offerings to engage new customer segments, and how to best utilise the ever-evolving available technology to deliver a better player experience.

The SBC Leaders panel will also set the tone for a wide-ranging conference, during which executives and specialists from the sports betting, casino gaming, affiliate marketing, payments, and safer gambling sectors will share insights about what those big issues mean for day-to-day operations in their vertical.

There will also be ample opportunity for an exchange of ideas about growth opportunities and best practice between the various sectors and the huge number of international markets represented at the Summit.

Much of this interchange will happen during the Main Stage programme, which runs across both days of the conference (22 and 23 September) and features leaders panels focused on the future of the wider industry and keynotes by influential figures such as Carsten Koerl (Founder & CEO, Sportradar) and Fredrik Elmqvist (Founder & CEO, Yggdrasil).

Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC, said: “The agenda for SBC Summit Barcelona is the most comprehensive that we’ve ever compiled, with a dual focus on the major issues that will define the next steps in the development of the entire industry and the day-to-day challenges faced by operators in each vertical.

“Whether your interest lies in the sports betting, online casino, affiliate marketing, safer gambling, or payments field, the conference will provide you with important insights and actionable ideas, together with the opportunity to meet valuable business contacts.”

The stage in the SBC Summit Barcelona venue’s Sports Betting Zone will host two conference tracks. On 22 September, the Sports Betting track will tackle topics including the changing nature of the relationship between the media and operators, the latest developments in integrity, and the international opportunities opening up for the esports betting industry.

The following day’s Innovation in Sports Betting track will focus on the potential of the latest trends in technology to deliver better experiences for players and efficiencies for operators.

In the Casino & Gaming Zone, delegates will find similarly in-depth coverage, beginning with the Innovation in Gaming track on 22 September. It will examine how operators and suppliers can deliver a new experience for players, with sessions looking at the practicalities of introducing a zero-harm gaming model, what the slots sector can learn from the video games industry, and the potential to reinvent poker offerings to reach new audiences.

The next day sees the Global iGaming track, which will provide expert insights into the opportunities for online casino operators in markets including Germany, the Netherlands, Latin America and the US.

In the Affiliate, Marketing & Media Zone, the focus of the content over the two days will be delivering valuable practical information about topics such as how to obtain an affiliate licence in the US, influencer marketing, utilising streaming for localised promotions in new markets, onboarding, and how to manage the fallout from Google’s new cookie policy.

The agenda for the Payments & Compliance Zone includes a Payments track on 22 September, which will examine how operators can utilise the latest technology to strike a balance between keeping up to date with ever-changing compliance obligations and delivering a user-friendly experience. Attention will turn to Safer Gambling on 23 September, with a full-day track dedicated to improving standards and sharing best practice for player protection.

Away from the conference rooms, delegates will be able to view the latest innovations from leading sportsbook, online casino, safer gambling, technology, and payments suppliers in the SBC Summit Barcelona exhibition.

The event also features a host of networking opportunities, with facilities to meet at Fira de Barcelona and a packed schedule of evening parties included with the full access pass.
