Is your company a ‘hard hitter’ in the sports betting industry?

SBC is inviting the ‘hard hitters’ in the sports betting industry to put themselves forward for one of 15 awards created to recognise excellence in 2016. If you feel your company deserves special recognition this year, make sure you get your nomination in before October 25.

The SBC Awards 2016, which will be held on December 7 at Under the Bridge nightclub, will see the crowning of seven overall and seven innovation award winners. In addition to this, event hostess Hayley McQueen, sponsored by Argyll Entertainment, will be inducting three sports betting community members into the SBC Sports Betting Hall of Fame.

After the close of nominations on October 25, the best entries will be shortlisted. The overall awards will be put to a vote between all those who registered for this year’s Betting on Football and Betting on Sports conferences. Meanwhile, the innovation awards will be decided by an all-star judging panel, tasked with picking out the truly ground-breaking entries.

Amongst those hoping for success on the night will be Oddschecker, who will be looking to pick up ‘Affiliate of the Year’ for the second year running. Guy Harding, Head of Commercial, explained why Oddschecker is so well regarded in the industry, and what makes the company a prime candidate to retain its best affiliate status at the SBC Awards in 2016:

“Given that one in four people ‘compare the market’ before placing a bet with the lion’s share of this comparison happening either via our app or our mobile/desktop site, it becomes evident how critical we are in the UK’s online gambling space. With the tax changes prompting a shift in bookie strategy, we’ve seen a stark shift away from free bet promotions towards more compelling price-led messaging. Oddschecker is perfectly placed to serve the growing faction of price sensitive punters.

“Although everything we do at Oddschecker is with the user in mind, awards are a great way of recognising the blood, sweat and tears which have gone in to make our product as good as it is. I’d like to think our chances of winning are high and I think the record traffic, registration numbers and brand recognition which we have realised over the last 12 months would vindicate this. For instance, In June alone we had 3.2 million unique visitors to the site, enough to fill Wembley 35 times over.”
