Digital sports publisher Snack Media has moved to expand its media network by investing in Vital Football, a creator of digital football communities, information and content.
The undisclosed investment will see Snack Media revamp Vital Football’s legacy website, and further improve its associated football communities’ monetisation, fan engagements and content solutions.
Further to the investment, Snack Media CEO & Co-founder Niall Coen will join Vital Football’s board advising founders Jonathan Fear and Andy Carson on long-term growth strategies.
Updating stakeholders, Coen commented on Snack Media’s investment in Vital Football: “This is a partnership with huge potential and a deal that will deliver value for Vital Football users and Snack Media brand partners. It’s incredibly exciting as this is another massive step for Snack Media as we move towards a leadership position in the UK website football market.
“We are well-established as content producers and fan engagement specialists and this just cements our position within this sector. We have always been proud to reach millions of sports fans, but to increase this number with the loyal eight million unique users Vital boasts highlights even greater potential for our clients and partners.”
At present, Snack Media operates a sports network of 300 websites, with a reach of +26 million fans per month. Incorporating Vital Football assets, Snack Media gains high coverage communities and football resources targeting the English Premier League, Football League and the Scottish SPL.
