New James Bond contender says Betway

Victoria star Tom Hughes has entered the reckoning to be the next James Bond, with Betway introducing him to the market at 20/1. 

The ITV period drama star has wooed audiences over the past couple of months and now the leading online bookmaker is reporting interest in Hughes being offered the 007 job.

Poldark’s Aidan Turner, Ben-Hur star Jack Huston and War And Peace heart-throb James Norton are the joint leading fancies to be named the next Bond at 3/1.

The long-time favourites for the role as film’s top British spy, Idris Elba and Tom Hiddleston, are very weak in the betting and now hold only outside chances at 10/1 and 12/1 respectively.

Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “Tom Hughes has turned some heads with his performances in Victoria and he’s quietly emerged as a contender to be the next James Bond.

“Some would say that there’s only one reason Poldark draws in over five million viewers everySunday, and that’s Aidan Turner. He’s our 3/1 co-favourite to succeed Daniel Craig as 007.”
