DraftKings launches in the UK

It has been announced today that major DFS operator DraftKings has launched in the UK.

This long awaited launch, which was originally scheduled for October 2015, follows the announcement of three Premier League clubs as partners earlier this week.

Deals were agreed with Arsenal, Watford and Liverpool which will ensure the operator has exposure at these clubs and will be able to utilise tickets and merchandise in the form of onsite prizes.

With 200,000 unique players from North America having taken part in Premier League, UEFA Champions League and MLS daily fantasy football games, DraftKings is officially the biggest DFS football provider in the world. Over $1 billion (£690.4m) was awarded in cash prizes in 2015 across its six million registered players.

DraftKings UK is allowing player registrations from today and this weekend will be the first opportunity for UK based players to try it out with some major Premier League action in-store including Man City v Leicester and Chelsea v Man Utd. DKUKtweet

The Twitter page has already announced one ticket giveaway for Arsenal v Leicester on February 14th, as part of its initial #DKUKfridays promotional campaign.

The company joins a competitive UK fantasy football marketplace with the likes of Mondogoal, Fanaments, FantasyBet all competing against one another.
