Japanese social and mobile game developer gloops has announced the extension of its gaming partnership with Manchester United. Management at gloops confirmed that its featured Manchester United game ‘European Club Team Soccer Best Eleven Plus’ game topped 1.4million downloads.
The Manchester United themed game allowed users to assume the role of team manager, recruiting and creating the best squads possible, in order to battle other social/mobile gamers.
Richard Arnold, Manchester United Group MD commented that the partnership was one of the newest and most successful partnership for the football club.
“We are delighted that gloops have decided to extend their relationship with us for another year, and demonstrates that having a partnership with Manchester United yields impressive returns,” he said.
“gloops have produced an extremely popular product, with almost half of our four million followers in Japan downloading its Manchester United branded game, which is impressive given the short period in which it has been available.

gloops has produced more than 40 different games and now boasts over 30 million users after launching nine years ago.The company have also undertaken a Manchester United Soccer Schools programme over the past 12 months.
