Betfair Appoint Leo Quinn

lquinnSports betting exchange and igaming operator Betfair announced the appointment of Leo Quinn as Non-Executive Director. The publically traded operator stated that Mr Quinn will take up the position from March 5 2014.

Quinn joins Betfair having served as CEO of defence and military contractor QinetiQ Group since November 2009, Leo Quinn has held key management position since 2001, having worked for international currency printer De La Rue & Honeywell International.

On his new position with Betfair, Quinn commented “Betfair has an enterprising and unique business model and I am delighted to join the board at such an important time in its development,”

The appointment of Quinn comes shortly after the announcement by Betfair that previous Non-Executive director Joshua Hannah had stepped down from the position. Gerald Corbett, chairman of Betfair, commented on the new appointment: “We look forward to welcoming Leo to our board, he has an excellent track record, considerable international experience in large public companies and will be a great addition to the board.”
