Codere reveals new ‘unified’ Italian identity

Bolsa Madrid gambling group Codere SA has launched a new unique logo for its Italian market presence, as the legacy operator moves to unify and optimise its Italian gambling properties.

Codere has been active in the Italian gambling market since 2001, when the firm acquired the eight bingo hall properties of Operbingo, moving to establish its presence in Northern Italy.

To date, the Spanish gambling group has primarily serviced the Italian gambling market, as a bingo and arcade halls operator, with Codere governance prior to 2018 stating that it would seek to launch new Italian wagering verticals.

In 2015, Codere significantly expanded its Italian market presence, acquiring regional AWP games (fruit machine) manufacturer PGO Italia, becoming a lead machines distributor for leisure licenses in the provinces of Veneto, Friuli, Tuscany and Lazio.

Operating an AAMS ‘Gaming Terminal License’, Codere has expanded its network to 8,000 machines (7,200 AWP + 900 VLT), with Italian gambling activities generating reported 2018 revenues of €336 million with EBITDA of €27.5 million.

Promoting its new Italian identity through social media verticals, Codere marketing details that its new Italia logo will help unify awareness and customer recognition across its active 11 gaming/bingo halls and games machine distribution services.
