FDJ recruits Coca-Cola’s Bastien to lead new sales drive

Groupe FDJ, the operating company of Française des Jeux, France’s national lottery operator, has confirmed the appointment of Isabelle Bastien as new Group Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

Bastien has joined FDJ’s executive committee and will be charged with leadership of Paris Euronext gambling group’s sales force activities and B2B trade marketing teams.

A mass-market retail expert, Bastien joins FDJ from The Coca-Cola Company, where she formally served as Global Account Director, leading the management of the soft drinks giant’s business with French supermarket conglomerate Carrefour.

During her tenure at Coca-Cola, Bastien led  Carrefour to become the sixth-largest global customer of the company generating annual sales of + €1.1 billion.

Updating investors, FDJ underscored Bastien’s proven experience, which had seen the executive promoted across all divisions of Coca-Cola commercial make-up including supplier logistics, contract negotiations, retail management and B2B marketing.

Bastien will spearhead FDJ’s commercial development, as the gambling group aims to operate its French lottery network uninterrupted following two-years of COVID-19 constraints that have dragged the group’s post Paris IPO performance.

Despite its year-on-year COVID-19 setbacks, during 2021 FDJexpanded its B2B commercial capacity having secured new lottery system distribution and management contracts with Eesti Loto (Estonia) and Lotto Bavaria (Germany).
