Luckbox appoints Lachlan Thomson to lead new marketing drive

Luckbox has confirmed the appointment of Lachlan Thomson at its new Head of Performance Marketing, leading the esports wagering platform’s planned aggressive marketing drive. 

An expert in sports betting and esports disciplines, Thomson is the former Head of Brand Communications for Seattle-based esports entertainment group Unikrn (2018-2020).

Taking control of Luckbox’s player acquisition verticals, Thomson will be a key stakeholder in the development of the firm’s marketing strategy and optimising its media channels, as the company targets continued growth in Q4 2020 and beyond.

Joining Luckbox, Thomson said: “I’m relishing the chance to work with such a young brand. Being able to shape the brand growth in a competitive world is something that I am looking forward to facing.

“I love how esports is ever-evolving and there is always something fresh and new coming on to the scene. It is developing in front of our very eyes and to be involved on the forefront of that world is such an exciting place to be.”

Luckbox has continued to strengthen its resources and operating teams, supported by its recent $5m oversubscribed funding round closed ahead of its planned listing on Toronto’s TSX Venture Exchange.

Publishing its TSX summer prospectus, Luckbox revealed that it had plans to hire five new executives – bolstering the firm’s engineering talents and marketing strategy for global expansion.
