Sportech boosts commercial muscle by appointing Ben Warn as Non-Executive Director 

International racing and wagering systems provider Sportech Plc has expanded its leadership after confirming the appointment of Ben Warn as a Non-Executive Director.   

With 20 years experience as an industry executive, Warn has led product and consumer strategies for a number of tier-1 betting companies such as Sky Bet, Rank Group and UKbetting Plc.

Prior to joining Sportech, Warn also served as a Non-Executive advisor to fast-growth betting publisher CheckdMedia.

In his remit, Warn will advise Sportech governance and executive leadership teams on commercial strategies and product development as the LSE-listed firm accelerates its group transformation strategy, prioritising US growth opportunities 

A busy 2019 saw Sportech undertake wholesale changes to its executive leadership team under the guidance of new Group CEO Richard McGuire and Chairman Giles Vardey. 

Confirming Warn’s appointment, Vardey said: “Given the many challenges all businesses in our sector are facing, we are pleased to have Ben Warn joining our board with his broad gambling experience and his online product development and technology expertise.”

Last week, Sportech published its full-year 2019 results, in which the company detailed a return to ‘topline metric growth’ despite group losses widening to £8 million attributed to US-related impairment charges.
