SPER reveals finalists of inaugural Swedish leadership award

Spelbranschens Riksorganisation (SPER), Swedish online gambling’s independent trade body has disclosed the four individuals who will compete for the accolade of ‘Leader of the Year’.

On Thursday 26 March, SPER will host its inaugural Swedish Gambling Awards ceremony, recognising the companies and individuals that have delivered trust, sustainability and innovation to Sweden’s new online gambling marketplace.

Hosting just three categories, SPER will reward Sweden’s best online incumbent on ‘sustainability’ and ‘customer satisfaction’.

The trade body’s inaugural awards will be headlined by its ‘Leader of the Year’ prize, rewarding the individual who has elevated industry standards and responsibility in a critical year for all Swedish gambling stakeholders.

Individual finalists include ATG Chief Executive, Hasse Lord Skarplöth for successfully leading Swedish racing’s monopoly incumbent during a year of market transitions.

Industry veteran Per Jaldung Group CEO of Casino Cosmopol is recognised for introducing corporate directives on consumer advocacy, whilst improving industry engagement with wider stakeholders.

Meanwhile, Paf Deputy CEO and  Responsibility Officer Daniela Johansson is recognised as a SPER finalist for her ground-breaking work on gaming controls and sustainability measures.

The leadership pack is completed by Petra Forsström founder of Sweden’s ‘Sustainable Gambling Academy’, which provides vital R&D functions and future tools for a more responsible industry.

SPER’s finalists will be judged by an expert panel, led by problem-gambling psychologist Thomas Nilsson, the founder of industry research lab Sustainable Interaction and further judges representing all key disciplines of Swedish gambling’s value chain.

“The finalists have done something extraordinary in their respective areas. These Initiatives and individuals can be role models, and its important to highlight the best of the gaming industry” said Thomas Nilsson, president of the Swedish Gambling Award.
