Issuing a market filing, Athens-listed gambling and lottery systems supplier INTRALOT SPA has confirmed that Chairman Sokratis Kokkalis has ended his interim CEO tenure, confirming Christos Dimitriadis as new company leader.
Effective immediate, Kokkalis has transferred day-to-day control of INTRALOT ’s executive team to Dimitriadis who takes the position of Group Chief Executive and is further promoted to serve as a company board member.
During Q1 2019, company founder and majority shareholder Kokkalis retook leadership of Intralot following the loss of its IDDAA Turkish market betting concession, representing the technology group’s biggest commercial contract.
Kokkalis would immediately implement a group-wide strategic review overhauling all levels of the company’s senior management team.
An Intralot executive since 2007, Dimitriadis is promoted to company leader having formerly served in the capacity of as Group Strategy & Delivery Officer.
INTRALOT governance cites Dimitriadis as a key executive who holds an unprecedented knowledge of the ‘company’s unique DNA’ and has a proven track record of delivering on large scale projects having formerly services as Group IT and Systems lead.
Updating investors, Kokkalis commented on the appointment of Dimitriadis: “Following a transition period of reorganization during the last year, the company will evolve with an emphasis in the digital technology, with Christos Dimitriadis as its new Group CEO.
“Christos has a long experience with our company for the past 12 years and possesses in depth knowledge of the technologies in our industry. I wish him every success in his new role.”
Taking Leadership of INTRALOT, Dimitriadis will continue to execute Kokkalis’s transformation programme, seeking to revitalise the Athens group’s key contracts and expansion within new markets.
