Paf becomes Grand Casino Luzern’s ‘technical partner’ for Swiss opening

The governance of Paf has disclosed that the Åland Islands-based gaming operator will act as ‘lead technology partner’ for Grand Casino Luzern, as Switzerland initiates its new online casino regime.

This June the Swiss Federal Council, approved an initial four online casino permits awarded to local operators – Grand Casino Baden, Grand Casino Luzern, Casino Davos and Swiss Casinos Pfäffikon.

July will see Switzerland launch its new online casino regulatory code, with Paf detailing that it will help bring Grand Casino Luzern’s new online property mycasino.ch to market this summer.

In its update, Paf governance details that it will support the mycasino.ch brand, with full gaming and operational provisions, including platform solutions, player management, gaming content and systems support.

Paf Chief Executive Christer Fahlstedt, highlights the significance of the partnership, as Paf becomes one of the international first gaming companies to offer services for Swiss licensed incumbents.

“We are very pleased that Grand Casino Luzern has chosen us as a partner. There is a strong mutual understanding behind the collaboration and I am convinced that together we will succeed well in Switzerland – where only four online gaming licences have been distributed to date,” details Fahlstedt.

Moving to launch mycasino.ch, Grand Casino Luzern and Paf will compete in the initial Swiss online casino market against Casino Baden’s Jackpots.ch brand, with Casino Davos partnering with Belgium Ardent Group.

Meanwhile, Swiss Casinos Pfäffikon is expected to launch an online casino vertical in partnership with FTSE250 gambling group Playtech Plc.

“Paf will be our strategic know-how partner with the right technology. They have been pioneers in online gaming and we believe that Paf can give us the experience and innovation needed to establish an online casino quickly in the Swiss market,” details Grand Casino Luzern’s CEO Wolfgang Bliem.

“Paf has a long history of stable ownership and they are also well known for their responsible gaming, which makes them an excellent partner for us.”
