Generational Change! Interwetten appoints Dominik Beier as betting’s youngest leader

The governance of DACH region online betting group Interwetten Sports has confirmed the upcoming appointment of Dominik Beier as new ‘speaker of the board and lead corporate spokesman’.

Updating the market, Interwetten governance expects Beier to take corporate leadership of the betting group from April 2019.

Beier will replace current Interwetten leader Werner Becher, who this November confirmed that he would end his seven-year CEO tenure, at the close of 2018.

Aged 27, Interwetten details that they have appointed global betting’s youngest ever corporate leader, with majority investor Wolfgang Fabian stating that the appointment of Beier should be viewed as a ‘generational change for Interwetten’s enterprise’.

“I am very pleased that we have been able to win our absolute preferred candidate and outstanding management talent for Interwetten. I have been following his career for some time with great excitement and I am convinced of his outstanding qualities” Wolfgang Fabian details to stakeholders.

A media and marketing professional, Beier began his career at Vienna-based live sports streaming platform LAOLA1 in 2011, where he rose up the ranks to become a member of the executive team, which would sell the enterprise to leading sports data firm Sportradar in 2016.

As part of the transaction, Beier would join Sportradar, leading the firm’s new sponsorship and media rights commercial divisions as Global Head of Sponsorship/Advertising Sales (2016-2018).
