Maximum Impact… GambleAware launches advisory to support UK marketing initiatives

Industry charity GambleAware has detailed further insight related to the make-up of its marketing advisory board.

On Monday, GambleAware governance confirmed the appointment of M&C Saatchi as creative lead for its upcoming UK multi-media ‘Safer Gambling Campaign’.

Further to the appointment of M&C Saatchi, GambleAware confirmed that it had developed a new advisory board to oversee the progress and impact of its UK marketing initiatives.

For its upcoming Safer Gambling Campaign, GambleAware governance seeks to broaden the public understanding of gambling-related harm as a health issue.

Furthermore, the campaign seeks to enhance harm-prevention supports for the young and most vulnerable consumers of gambling services.

Updating the market, GambleAware has disclosed the five members of its Safer Gambling marketing advisory:

  • Professor Sian Griffiths, GambleAware Trustee and Deputy Chair, Public Health England (Interim)
  • Sheila Mitchell, Marketing Director, Public Health England
  • Teresa Owen, Executive Director of Public Health, The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board
  • Dr Crawford Moodie, Senior Research Fellow in Institute for Social Marketing, University of Stirling
  • Gerda Reith, Professor of Sociology in the School of Social and Political Sciences, University of Glasgow

GambleAware’s marketing advisory will be further supported by observers from the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, the Gambling Commission and Responsible Gambling Strategy Board, the Advertising Association, the Senet Group and commercial Broadcasters.
