GambleAware calls for creative pitch for new TV marketing campaign

Industry charity GambleAware seeks a new creative marketing agency, to lead its £7 million TV advertising account.

GambleAware is currently planning its next UK marketing campaign, focusing on raising public awareness of problem gambling, targeting ‘low-level players’ who may be at risk of becoming addicts.

The industry charity will run its creative marketing pitch through the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers (ISBA), which has sent out briefs to marketing agencies.

The multi-channel marketing campaign will be paid for by UK licensed betting operators, and will receive further support by broadcasters who will commit free media slots to help promote GambleAware’s message.

GambleAware states that it will maintain its relationship with London marketing agency 18 Feet & Rising, as lead corporate creative for its daily operations.

Both the UKGC and DCMS have urged for betting stakeholders to improve their funding of  GambleAware, an industry charity that has focused on combatting problem gambling through education, research and training

Despite, raising £8 million for the year of 2016/2017, GambleAware has detailed to industry leaders that its operational funding is still around 20% shortfall of the target set by the Responsible Gambling Strategy Board.
