Seattle-based esports betting platform Unikrn has confirmed the appointment of Andrew Vouris as new Chief Operations Officer (COO), as the company prepares for its upcoming ‘2018 European rollout’.

A seasoned gambling executive, Vouris joins Unikrn leadership from Australian ASX gambling group Tabcorp Holdings, where he most recently served as Group Deputy COO for the firm’s media and wagering division (2016-2017).

Vouris will lead Unikrn operations in a critical year for the esports betting platform, which plans to launch its services within 80% of regulated European betting markets, having recently been approved a Malta Gaming License.

A pleased Rahul Sood CEO of Unikrn welcomed Vouris’ appointment; “We hope none of our competitors will hold a grudge that Andrew picked Unikrn. It was never a fair fight given our recent success and his long-established love of both esports and our company,”

Sood detailed to the media, that Vouris has a deep knowledge of Unikrn services and operations, having served as a key stakeholder in Tabcorp Holdings 2015 enterprise investment in the esports wagering firm.

As Unikrn COO, Vouris will lead wagering and gaming growth strategies, as well as overseeing the development of global teams in Unikrn’s four primary offices in Seattle, Las Vegas, Sydney and Berlin.

“I first met the Unikrn crew back in 2014. That’s when I made the decision that Tabcorp would invest in them to help them build their business,” said Andrew Vouris on joining Unikrn. 

“Obviously, I fell in love with the team, the brand, the vision and the product — this company is the future, and I’m going to make sure we expose them to the world.”
