Dedicated eSports betting platform provider UltraPlay has moved to ‘strengthen its blockchain technology propositions’ by launching new cryptocurrency eGold.
The new eGold coin aims to ‘unify dynamics among’ eSports enthusiasts around the world. Furthermore, the coin will allow for a secure currency alternative for betting on popular eSports games such as s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends and DOTA2.
eGold has been built on the ERC20 Ethereum-based token, and will initially launch on the on esports betting platform Buff8, a current UltraPlay platform partner.
Bolstering its crypto capabilities, UltraPlay will move to secure an initial coin offering (ICO) for its eGold token which will run from 18 December 18 to 28 February.
Mario Ovcharov, Chief Commercial Officer has commented on eGold ambitions: “We are very excited to introduce eGold to the eSports and crypto community. Together, we can make it the first-choice payment method for eSports betting.”
