Seeking to boost its data controls and further safeguard the integrity of its syndicated competitions, Basketball Australia has formed a sport/betting monitoring partnership with Genius Sports.
Basketball Australia, the governing body of Australia professional basketball, will have all its sanctioned matches/competitions monitored by Genius Sports systems.
The partnership will see Genius Sports further become Basketball Australia’s ‘Official Data Partner’, controlling the supply of official data to legal, regulated betting operators around the globe.
Anthony Moore, CEO of Basketball Australia, stated that the partnership highlighted the body’s commitment to improving all integrity standards, placing an emphasis on match monitoring systems, data processing and cooperation with Genius Sports teams. Moore commented on the partnership
“We are delighted to have formed this official agreement with Genius Sports. This unique partnership will not only enable Basketball Australia to control and centralise the data provided to the regulated betting industry, but will also enable us to safeguard the integrity of our competitions from any manipulation.”
Moving forward, Genius Sports will work with each Basketball Australia leagues’ trained and accredited statisticians to ensure the accurate and efficient collection of official data. It will provide comprehensive ongoing training together with a unique digital platform which facilitates real-time communication between the league and the statisticians.
