The European Gaming and Amusement Federation (EUROMAT) has confirmed the appointment of Jason Frost as its new President, serving a fixed two-year term.

EUROMAT governance announced the leadership appointment at its annual general meeting, held in Berlin last week.

An industry veteran, Frost takes over leadership of the industry body having previously served as President of the British Amusement Catering Trades Association (BACTA), where he grew stakeholder membership significantly.

The appointment of Frost, is further accompanied by the promotion of Uwe Christiansen (German market associate) as new Vice President and the re-election of Mirjana Acimovic of JAKTA Serbia as the Federation’s Treasurer.

Commenting on his election, Jason Frost said: “It’s a real privilege to serve our industry Europe-wide. Never has EUROMAT been more needed by its members.

“We’re moving towards becoming a cashless society and yet this fact seems to be ignored by regulators. I’m making a call today to the European regulatory community to get round the table with us and help us to find a way forward together.

“Like any other business we need to be able to offer electronic payment and payback as well as cash. It is better for business but also better for the player who will find it easier to pre-commit, setting limits on spend and time. Regulators understand the value of this in the online market and with our existing ability to monitor our players they should realise how valuable this can be for social responsibility. It’s a win-win”.
