GVC appoints Mike Sexton as PartyPoker Chairman

Updating the market, FTSE-listed online gambling group GVC Holdings has announced the appointment of Mike Sexton as the new Chairman of its PartyPoker subsidiary.

Sexton has been involved with PartyPoker since 2009 acting as the brands ambassador and representing the poker room through his lead commentary of World Poker Tour (WPT) events.  

Sexton is considered a leading authority on the global game of poker, and has advised PartyPoker executive teams throughout his career.

Confirming the appointment of Sexton, GVC detailed that its new Chairman would focus on the development of PartyPoker’s product proposition, marketing activities and improvement of customer services and rewards.

Key initiatives for Sexton will further include the development of PartyPoker ‘small bankroll’ player pool and the ongoing development of its ‘PartyPoker Live’ tour.

Joining PartyPoker, Sexton will leave his executive position at WPT. Sexton detailed to the media, that he felt that it was the right decision in order to fully support his new employer.

Tom Waters, Managing Director of PartyPoker, added: “I am absolutely delighted that Mike has decided to come on board as our chairman; we are all dedicated to make PartyPoker the site for the players and having his support to make this happen gets us one step closer.”
