PMU France appoints Patrick Fontana as retail network lead

France state-owned sports betting operator Paris Mutuel Urbain (PMU) has confirmed the appointment of Patrick Fontana as its new Director of Commercial Properties.

An experienced French business executive, Fontana will take over leadership and strategy of managing PMU’s network of +13,000 retail betting points across France.

Furthermore, Fontana will be a key stakeholder of PMU retail projects, as the operator seeks to bridge its online and land based properties.

Fontana joins PMU from European real-estate and property management group Fonica, where he served as a Senior Sales executive (2014 -2017).

Taking on the PMU leadership role, Fontana has previous experience of working with government organisations and enterprises having served as Network Director for French music and publishing society SACEM (2012-2014).

Fontana’s leadership role will be based out of the state-owned bookmaker’s headquarters in Paris, and will report directly to PMU governance.
