Yggdrasil secures content partnership with GVC Italian properties

Fredrik Elmqvist, Yggdrasil

Industry games and content provider Yggdrasil Gaming, who announced in January that it was entering the Italian market, has partnered with GVC Holdings’ Italian-facing gaming brands to integrate its video slots directly into the operator’s bwin.it and Gioco Digitale sites.

Entering the Italian market with GVC will see Yggdrasil’s portfolio of HTML5 games being offered in the country for the first time. As it continues to grow its business across Europe, the deal also enables the developer to expand its geographical reach alongside an operator with unparalleled expertise in the region.

Initially, 11 games will be certified under Italian regulations, with a view to going live early in the second quarter of 2017. bwin.it will launch with titles including Dark Joker Rizes, Vikings Go Wild and Nirvana.

In addition to Yggdrasil’s content, GVC’s Italian operations will also gain access to the supplier’s arsenal of in-game promotional tools, BOOST™, including the recently-launched Missions feature, as well as the social sharing tool BRAG.

Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO at Yggdrasil Gaming, said: “We are thrilled to have joined forces with an operator as big and as respected as GVC to enter the Italian market.

“We will provide GVC’s Italian operations with a premium gaming platform to initially offer eleven certified games with a view to providing many more as the partnership develops.

“We have grown our footprint across Europe this past year. This is the latest in a long line of big deals, and shows the progress we are making and just how desirable our games and in-game promotional tools have become.”

Liron Snir, Chief Product Officer at GVC Holdings said: “Our mission is to offer our players the widest possible range of quality games.

“Yggdrasil titles have taken the market by storm and it is a great step for us to be able integrate this first-rate content into our Italian offer. What’s more, their in-game promotional tools are genuinely innovative, particularly the BRAG feature which was a real draw for us.”
