The governance of FTSE-listed gambling technology provider Playtech Plc has confirmed that Dr Armin Sageder has been appointed CEO of its sports betting ‘Playtech BGT’ division.
Dr Sageder takes leadership of Playtech’s sports betting arm, having joined the industry technology provider in July, following Playtech’s €140 million ‘all-cash’ acquisition of BGT a Vienna based sports betting provisions supplier founded by Sageder.
The appointment sees Playtech unify its sports betting assets of BGT, Geneity, Mobenga, Unilogic plus its in-house trading team under the new division of Playtech BGT.
The division will be headquartered in Nicosia Cyprus, with Dr Sageder reporting directly to Playtech CEO Mor Weizer.
Following significant investment in its sports betting product portfolio, Playtech governance detailed that it had grown its division to over 600 employees based in Nicosia, Malmö, Vienna, London, Bremen and Sofia.
Updating the market on the appointment of Dr Sageder as its sports betting CEO, Playtech stated that it had found the right man to deliver on its vision of creating a best-in-class omni-channel betting platform for all industry stakeholders.
Playtech BGT will now move to become the market leader in sports betting technology and provisions, servicing all facets of the industry value chain, including; online platform provisions, mobile devices, self-service betting terminals, payments and player management systems.
