Troubled SeanieMac seeks outside investment

seaniemacEmbattled Irish betting operator SeanieMac is seeking funds to continue its business having accumulated losses of £10 million (€7.6 million).

The Belfast Telegraph reports that SeanieMac governance is seeking financial aid from outside investors, with the company warning that if it cannot raise more capital, it will be forced to close its business.

In its latest market update (released 15 August), SeanieMac CEO Garreth Core detailed that the company is working on the launch of its new betting and casino platform with gambling technology provider OPTIMA.

SeanieMac governance stated that its new platform would be launched in September, at present the company is taking no bets on its website due to its ongoing platform migration.

Launched in 2013 by Donegal businessman Sean McEniff, SeanieMac aimed to become the leading online bookmaker for Irish Sports.

At present SeanieMac governance has made no official comment on its current financial position.
