The French football league proved to be the most predictable on the continent over the past weekend, as tipsters on bettingexpert.com performed better on the Ligue 1 matches than any other division.
Of the 5,000+ football tips posted on bettingexpert’s community this weekend, the ones focusing on French football were the most profitable for tipsters, with the Austrian Bundesliga and Russian Premier League following up behind.
In contrast, Spain’s La Liga was the most expensive for tipsters, presumably because of Real Madrid’s stuttering start to the season, with Turkey’s Superlig and Russia’s National Football League also proving particularly unpredictable. The English Premier League was the most popular, attracting 11% of all tips.
The average odds for a winning bet this weekend was 2.11, while for a losing bet it was 4.87. On average for all the tips the odds were very high at 3.66 with average odds for Eredivisie in the Netherlands reaching 9.80 and Serbian 1st division at 7.48.
Bettingexpert’s Gavin Moore commented: “Arsenal verses Liverpool was our most popular match of the weekend, which was good news for the bookmakers given the 0-0 scoreline. The reason why so many people lost money on that match was that 55% of all tips either went for Arsenal to win, both to score, or over 2.5 goals in the match.”
