Cherry AB appoints Fredrik Burvall as CEO

Following its Annual General Meeting (AGM), the Board of  Directors at Cherry AB  has appointed Fredrik Burvall as new CEO and President of the Cherry group with immediate effect.

Fredrik Burvall has been employed by the company since 2006 as Vice President and CFO and since December 2014 he has been the acting CEO and President of the group.

Commenting on the appointment of the new CEO Rolf Åkerlind, Chairman of the Board. stated 

”Fredrik Burvall has showed a strong drive and passion for the company during his years as CFO and Vice President. Furthermore, he has a vast knowledge of the gaming industry. Cherry made some management changes in December 2014 and the combination of strengthening our Malta organization and Fredrik’s experience will result in a group management that will help Cherry to reach profitability with continued strong growth”, 

Prior to Cherry, Burvall held various senior positions at Ericsson and Modern Times Group. He is 42 years old, holds a degree in Business and Economics and has an MBA from Stockholm University.

In December 2014, Cherry made a management change within the company in order to strengthen its Malta-based online business. The company’s main owner Morten Klein began to work in close cooperation with the management in Malta, focusing on business development and partnerships.
