Spain’s gambling regulator Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ) has appointed Jose Antonio Garcia as its new Director General of Management and Industry Relations.
Garcia will replace Laura Minguito, who has stepped down from the general management position. Garcia takes over having consulted the DGOJ on industry relations and policy.
Garcia has a background in engineering focusing on telecommunications and IT and has worked for various Spanish enterprise and commercial bodies. The DGOJ hopes that the appointment of Garcia will help improve communications between the regulator and international gaming operator entering the Spanish gambling market
In a statement about Gil’s departure, the DGOJ said: “The DGOJ management appreciates your great involvement, effort and work, without which it would have been possible to address multiple projects, internal and external projection, developed during this term.”
The DGOJ further thanks Laura Minguito for her contribution to the regulatory body
