The World Series of Poker (WPT) is set to expand its tournament presence in Eastern Europe after agreeing an exclusive live poker event partnership with Georgia betting operator Europe-Bet.com
The bwin.party owned live poker brand has agreed with the Georgia licensed operator Europe-Bet.com to host three WPT approved live events. The first tournament will take place at the Tbilisi Europe-Bet Poker Club on 4 June, and will feature a guaranteed $200,000 prize pool.
WPT management confirmed that the poker operator would look to host two additional live events at the end of 2015, as the WPT looks to establish Georgia’s leading live poker event. Qualifiers for the June event are already taking place on the Europe-Bet.com website.
Speaking on the agreement Adam Pliska WPT President said
“Europe-Bet.com is committed to the long-term growth of poker in Georgia and beyond, and by working alongside this trusted national company, the World Poker Tour has an opportunity to expand its footprint in Eastern Europe,”
We are thrilled to kick off this partnership with a $200,000 guaranteed WPT National event in June, and look forward to sharing the WPT experience with everyone associated with the spectacular Europe-Bet.com Poker Club.”
