Tipster Profile: Federico Parini – Basketball is least affected by chance

betadvisor-federicopariniBasketball expert and Bet Advisor Senior Tipster Federico Parini explains the methodology behind his tipping and how he discovered that the NBA is the perfect league for his approach.

How did you first get into sports betting ?

I started to get interested in sports betting about 10 years ago. Like many people, initially it was just for fun, then I realized that I could actually benefit from it using my skills and knowledge.

At what point did you realise that you can make some real money from sports betting?

I realised that after many years of activity.  After some time, after earning experience and mental discipline, I realised that this could be a highly profitable field from which I could have a good profit in the long run. Therefore I started to invest and the results were excellent right from the beginning.

How did you come to select (basketball) as your chosen sport?

Thanks to my background in Economics and Finance, and solid knowledge in computer science (C ++, Java Script) I created an algorithm that helps me in predicting over / unders in basketball games and not only in live-betting which I used especially at the beginning.  I worked as a trader and sometimes as a scalper on Betfair. After analysing the various markets for some time, I noticed that my best performances came from basketball and especially from the NBA.

Obviously basketball is not just numbers and statistics, otherwise, like other guys, I would hit 100% of events. But no doubt it is a sport, as well as the NFL or the NHL, in which numbers are definitely a factor to consider, even if they sometimes distract from the real direction in which the meeting will go.

Despite the fact some people believe that basketball and the NBA in particular is one of the most difficult sports to predict, in fact this is not the case. Although it is the sport  “WHERE AMAZING HAPPENS” I think it’s the one in which chance and  fortuitous events have the least affect. Even the referees hardly affect an event, unlike in football, for example. As I realised that basketball was the sport that would suit my characteristics, I began to analyse it every day and to have excellent results.

basketballAre there any particular events that you look forward to throughout the year?

There are not particular events, I mainly focus on the NBA from pre-season to the Finals in the middle of June, but also other main national leagues, the Euroleague, Eurocups and of course international competitions such as the FIBA World Championship and FIBA European Championship.

It’s important to operate in markets where liquidity is high.

What was your best ever bet?

Honestly I do not know , because now I always work with bets with odds of  around 2 or higher so there is no one better than other, they are all equally important.

A few years ago I had fun sometimes  trying different multiples with low stakes, but now I know that in the long run they hardly ever bring profit. Therefore I focus mainly on the singles,  doubles or sometimes trebles.

What kind of factors do you evaluate before making a selection?

There are many factors to consider before taking a final step on selection.

As I said in my service description on my BetAdvisor profile, I analyse all the information I can possibly get and put it all together. This includes reading articles and matchup previews, noting injuries or suspensions, analysing the statistical data of both teams, considering current shape, and searching for what players and coaches said in the press conferences.

What has been the biggest influence on your betting career?

As previously mentioned, my background in economics, banking and financial markets influenced me along with a lot of passion for sport and a great desire to learn every day.

Do you have any future plans in regards to your service?

Yes, I have some ideas. I always try to make my service as efficient as possible.

As sometimes there are several meetings but not one match seems a decent bet for a single, from this month I will send to my clients private message where I tell them what I think about the encounters and possibly recommend them a double or treble.

It’s my duty but mostly personal pleasure to make my client fully satisfied with his purchase, I care a lot about this, in order to make him understand that his confidence in me was not wasted.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your betting career?

Emotions and the fear of losing, especially in the first years of experience.

You have to have a lot of self-control, and believe in yourself and remain faithful to your money management plan.

How do you balance your betting time and family life?

It’s not easy. Many people think that being a professional tipster is a joke, it’s a game and it’s easy to predict an event. I can assure you that is not so, it is just like a financial analyst that analyses markets every single day, and  for those who are trading or scalping. It ‘s very important to know how to be able to organize and balance everything, to have a lot of discipline, keep concentration  and respect the timetable, because for those who do it seriously it takes away several hours every day, including Saturday and Sunday.

Do you have a favourite team/horse that you follow regularly?

I have no favourite team, which I would say is better. I like different teams and I respect different players, and this is very important because in this way I can be objective when I’m going to take a final decision on an event to predict.

How do you keep calm when you hit a run of losing bets?

In my opinion this is one of the most important but also the most difficult parts of this activity. Keeping calm during a losing streak is the key to being a successful tipster. How do you do it? Honestly it is always hard. Like every human being, every time you lose or you win you feel an emotion, whether it is happiness or anger. I go to the gym regularly and I can say that it is useful way to let off steam and relieve stress.

It’s very important to eat regularly and have as regular a lifestyle as possible – many people neglect this aspect. Mental and physical well-being is highly correlated. It’s the same thing you do when you are in a positive streak. I reason always on the single prediction, regardless of the positive or negative series from which I have come from. Never get caught by fear, always keep calm and make rational decisions before making the final step.

How do you organise your bank management?

This is also one of the key aspects of this activity. It’s important to have a well-fixed money management system before starting to invest, and  remain faithful to it.  Many people use flat stakes. I’d  rather use my personal method which over the years has given much better results in terms of ROI in the long run.

What is the best reason you could give to anyone who was thinking about following your service?

Well, I love this job and I always work to improve myself in order to satisfy my clients that put their trust in me. The numbers speak for themselves and I believe that my results are pretty good. Professionalism and competence are my keys, along obviously with consistency in the long run. Behind every pick there is so much hard work, I always try to explain in the analysis preview the main reasons that lead me to make a particular choice. I NEVER select an event without a very important reason.

In addition, I work only in markets with high liquidity and this is a very important aspect because in this way the odds do not change very quickly and so you do not lose the edge over the bookmaker, unlike in small markets where the news of an injury, or something else makes the odds fall rapidly.

If you are looking for a professional, hardworking tipster with enough experience, and great knowledge…you need to try my service.
