Dutch regulator issues fines over unlicensed casino activity

Kansspelautoriteit the Dutch gambling regulator has issued fines totalling €310,000 (£245,000) to Redcorp SA and Bluemay Enterprises NV for unlicensed online gambling activity.

The regulator issues the fines with regards to the operations of 7red.nl casino and royaalcasino.nl. The regulator accused the online casino operators of actively targeting consumers in the Netherlands.

Kansspelautoriteit stated that it believed that 7red.nl casino and royaalcasino.nl primarily targeted Dutch consumers. After an investigation into Redcorp SA and Bluemay Enterprises NV, Kansspelautoriteit found the operators to be targeting Dutch citizens through use of television advertising and online media advertising.

The regulator had issued prior warnings to management of Redcorp SA and Bluemay Enterprises NV stating that they were in breach of Dutch Gambling regulations. In addition to handing out fines, the regulatory body issued personal warnings to management involved with the online casino operations.
