bwin.party announced the appointment of Daniel Silvers as Non-Executive Director. The appointment of Daniel Silver came after last month’s announcement of board changes for the operator.
Silvers currently serves as president of activist investor SpringOwl, as well as on the board of directors of India Hospitality Corp. Silvers has prior gambling experience having served on the board of directors for International Game Technology (IGT).
SpringOwl who own a 6.1% stake in the operator had purposed a number of resolutions, including its intentions to replace four representatives on the operators board. However, bwin.party responded by recommending that its shareholders ‘vote against’ the resolutions due to the lack of information it received on the nominees proposed and that the resolutions would not be in the best interests of the company.
Activist investor Jason Ader, CEO of SpringOwl has urged bwin.party board to make the necessary changes, in order to streamline the company’s operations and improve online gambling performance.
bwin.party have not publicly commented on the appointment of Daniel Silver as Non-Executive Director.
